Educational Assistance Through Scholarships

E.A.T.S. is far more than a social event or even the only opportunity to get Indian food locally, it is a real chance to grow our local community.  Education remains the key to sustainable long term economic and social growth.  People with more education have the skills they need to not only provide the goods and services that the local economy needs, they also provide the community a solid foundation getting involved in volunteer and cultural organizations.  A vibrant community needs to not only to attract talented and skilled people, but grow and retain those people who already live in our community.  EATS helps in its own small way to do exactly that.

The 26th Annual E.A.T.S. (or what we like to call the only night of the year when we can get Indian food in Wausau, although that isn’t entirely accurate anymore as the Downtown Grocery now filling that VERY important role in our community) event for food, music and a silent auction at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County’s annual scholarship fundraiser.

The fun will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the college, 518 S. 7th Ave., Wausau.

Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. For more information, call 715/261-6221 or www.uwmceats.com.
